Over the years, I have gradually accepted the term multi-disciplinary artist, as it seems the best way to describe my practice. I have always been a creator and maker and never resigned myself to one art form, preferring to experiment with different processes to achieve a result I am pleased with. The journey of making is as important to me as seeing the artwork evolve and eventually reveal itself.
Colour is integral, nature has it all worked out – light/darks, the subtle nuances that change from the time of day or even the weather conditions, these myriads of colour I find fascinating. I enjoy the challenge of mixing and replicating the colours I observe and to develop colour combinations using paint, dyes or ink.
