How textiles came about

I was surrounded by all sorts of fabric from an early age as Mum and Grandma were Tailors. I remember the clothes they made for me and I could sense the love that went into their making.  Although I learnt to sew, it was not until understanding the implications of fashion industry practises that I felt the desire to sew again.

About my textiles

The colour combinations and textural qualities found in my textile works echo my love of walking. This slower pace provides me with a direct response to 'nature's colour palette' that informs my colour choices and allows reflective time to consider the beauty that surrounds me. My fibre working methodology references my painting training, generally applying dye similar to watercolour painting.
